WI WINS PROGRAM
This is the 5th year that the Caledonia/Mt. Pleasant Health Department will be working in partnership with the Mt. Pleasant Police Department, Sturtevant Police Department and the Racine County Sheriff’s Department in the WI WINS Program.
The WI WINS Program is a state program that helps the state of Wisconsin reduce youth tobacco access. The police officers/deputies work with area teen volunteers to reduce the sales of tobacco to youth. Tobacco establishments that ‘do the right thing” and do not sell tobacco to youth receive a certificate of recognition from the Caledonia/ Mt. Pleasant Health Department for doing the right thing. The WI WINS investigations are held twice a year to area tobacco establishments in Caledonia, Mt. Pleasant, Sturtevant, and Western Racine County.
You ask what you as a parent of the community can do to fight tobacco youth access?
Thank a clerk when they “do the right thing” and do not sell to youth. You can be a part of the solution to our problem of youth tobacco access.
