Caledonia Conservancy receives land donation
The Caledonia Conservancy has received a 16-acre parcel of land along an abandoned railroad corridor between Five and Six Mile Roads from Conservancy benefactor Toni Ehrlich. The donation will be used to expand the area's horseback riding and hiking trails, the conservancy said. The land includes fields with native prairie flowers and grasses and is being reforested with native trees.
The conservancy is a non-profit land trust dedicated to preserving trails and open space in Caledonia. The conservancy has protected more than 60 acres since its inception in 1994.
